This may appear rather inconsistent with my professional activities. And it is, indeed ! While this is "only" a hobby, I sincerely believe it enriched my professional practice by making me more rigorous (I got a PhD in 2013 at the ULB), yet with keeping my mind open.
Current research
Impact of weak magnetic fields on circadian biorhythms and its possible extrapolation to mammals. My interest for that matter arose while I was preparing a course (as sport practitioner) on medical imaging and tried to understand how MRI works. Currently, I'm involved in the research on effects of weak magnetic fields (MF) that would be mediated by the MF impact on particle spin, not the proton one as in MRI, but the electronic one (see a presentation of my current research here). My current collaborations are with Dr EP Malkemper (https://www.caesar.de/en/, Germany), and with Pr Ph Gailly (Institut des Neurosciences, UCL).
Biological effects of radiofrequency (RF) fields, including the RF of the 5G. My very first publication did address the question of the local absorption of the RF close to DNA . Since, I published additional arguments in support of the relevance of that question within a review on RF effects on genomics. And the use of high frequencies (3.5 GHz, 26 GHz) by the soon coming 5G relaunch the debate about the local absorption of the RF in biological tissues. As a recognised expert in that matter, I have been recently sollicitated by the Belgian Federal Parliament (la Chambre) about the 5G, and by the ANSES and the French Ministery of Health about RF effects in general.
